Wins mean more to Bairns winger

Falkirk's Ryan Flynn collected the SPL's young player of the month award on Thursday but admitted the feeling could not compare with Saturday. Bairns Flynn took greater pleasure in the winning sensation he experienced at Fir Park last weekend than the gong.Flynn netted the only goal after a free-flowing passing move to give Falkirk a much-needed victory in their fight against relegation. The 21-year-old also netted opening goals against Hamilton and St Johnstone in March but the Motherwell game was the first victory Falkirk secured despite netting first in five successive matches.Flynn said: "It's nice to get an award but I was more happy on Saturday getting that three points that we oh-so-needed, especially with the way other results went."I think it (the award) coincides with the way the team is playing. The team is playing well."It's nice to get an award but it's all about the team."Flynn, who rejoined Falkirk from Liverpool in September after initially returning on loan, felt the three points was an overdue reward for their recent form under new manager Steven Pressley."Against Hamilton and St Johnstone we got draws but both games we felt we should have won," Flynn said."Even the Hibs game, it was a 3-1 defeat but it could have been 7-3 to us."But we got a victory and the clean sheet breeds confidence throughout the team."We've had confidence throughout but that win gives you a totally different feeling."'Elvis' (manager Stephen Pressley) is always talking about everyone playing with freedom and no fear and that's what we did on Saturday, and the previous few weeks."Now it's about getting the victories. Hopefully that's the start of us going on a run, we've got some momentum from the last four games."Falkirk can wipe out their three-point deficit at the foot of the SPL with victory over St Mirren at home on Saturday. With the likes of Burton O'Brien restored to the team following a long injury lay-off, Flynn believes they are in the best shape they have been in all season."We've had a few injuries throughout the season and a few chops and changes, but recently our core of the team has been the same," he said."I suppose with a lot of changes at the start of the season, we took a lot of time to gel but hopefully we're there now."Every game is going to be really difficult but every game is winnable."
