Hughes hopes Zemmama will be fit

Hibernian manager John Hughes hopes Merouane Zemmama will be fit for their crucial SPL game against Dundee United on Wednesday. The Moroccan limped out of Saturday's 3-1 win at Falkirk after just 14 minutes and went for a scan on his knee earlier on Monday.Hughes is now keeping his fingers crossed that Zemmama will be able to play his part in a match which will have a major bearing on the race for third place in the SPL."He was away for a scan today and fingers crossed it's not too serious," said the Hibs boss."He has only started and finished five 90 minutes for us and played 15 or 16 times for Hibs this year."He has had a lot of injury problems. I told him, from now until the end of the season, to get himself going and give us a bit of magic and score goals."I could see the sparkle in his eye and I felt really sorry for him when this happened."Hopefully it's not too serious and it's just a knock to the knee and with a bit of lady luck he will be okay for Wednesday."If not Wednesday, then hopefully Saturday."The visit of United is Hibs' first home match since suffering defeat in the Edinburgh derby against Hearts and crashing out of the Active Nation Scottish Cup to Irn-Bru First Division outfit Ross County. And Hughes has told his players to expect to find themselves under pressure from the Easter Road crowd despite a return to winning ways against the Bairns."Definitely, but it has to be like that," he said."You can see in one or two players a loss of confidence and their self-belief has dipped a little. But their effort and commitment has never been in doubt."I was fortunate to play for Celtic, where the demands are win, win, win every week. You have to win everything you do."It's something I picked up and I want to set that culture at Hibs."I've had a good response but it takes time and I just hope they get their rewards."Winning on Wednesday will go a long way towards that."
