Dowie pins hopes on Tigers battlers

Iain Dowie is hoping his rough diamonds can help Hull stay in the top flight as the fight for Premier League survival draws to a climax. The Tigers head into their last six matches of the season a point behind West Ham in 17th but with a game in hand. And Dowie has singled out defender Steven Mouyokolo, striker Jozy Altidore and young midfielder Tom Cairney as three players with great potential. The Hull boss has been particularly impressed with 23-year-old Mouyokolo, who joined the club from Boulogne last summer and has become a fixture in the centre of defence."Mouyokolo, Altidore, Tom Cairney - there's a bit of polishing to do but they've got the raw talent," said Dowie. "Tom's a beautiful composed footballer, Mouyokolo's got fantastic attributes - good left foot, good right foot, great in the air, good pace."He needs to polish up on his defensive acumen and he should be the complete product. He's developing all the time. He's done very, very well and he's got a lot of potential."
