Jordan looking to stop City ace Tevez

Stephen Jordan intends to make it hard going for Carlos Tevez - after giving the Manchester City striker his vote in the PFA team of the year. Tevez, who arrived from Manchester United in the summer, took his tally for the season to 25 on Monday in victory against Wigan. The Argentinian scored a quick-fire second half hat-trick after defender Gary Caldwell was sent off.Burnley full-back Jordan, a former City player and lifelong fan, knows his team will have to be on their guard at Turf Moor this evening. While the Clarets are battling to beat the drop, the visitors are chasing a top-four spot.Jordan said: "Tevez is in sparkling form and needs to be watched. He works hard, is a great finisher and very clever with his movement. He is an all-round top player."Burnley go into the match on the back of a home defeat by Blackburn and have won only once in 12 league games since Brian Laws took charge. However, if they beat City they will draw level on points with West Ham, who face Everton on Sunday.Burnley picked up their only point on the road at Eastlands and Jordan said: "We still believe we can beat anyone at home and are good enough to stay in this league."Three wins and maybe we should be okay as the teams around us aren't picking up many points either."Hopefully we can beat City and put pressure on West Ham. For some reason we seem to play better against the top teams."Jordan is among a group of players who are out of contract in the summer. However, he has backed his manager by stating he is happy to wait until the end of the season before discussing his future.Jordan said: "We have just got to concentrate on the remaining matches and everything will sort itself out."I am just thinking about Manchester City this weekend and that's all really."Jordan is expected to recover from a knee problem in time for the game while club captain Steven Caldwell returns to the squad following a four-month absence with a groin injury.Caldwell is in the frame after coming through a reserve match this week without any reaction.
