Hatters have to settle for a point

The Hatters had the best of the chances in a scrappy affair in driving wind and rain with Tom Craddock going closest to breaking the deadlock when he struck a post in the 43rd minute.Gillingham almost took the lead within 15 seconds when Mark McCammon just failed to meet Nicky Southall's cross, but the hosts had the best of it after that.Sam Parkin dinked wide after running through in the second minute and Craddock tested Simon Royce with a 25-yard effort four minutes later.Craddock produced a moment of magic two minutes before the break when his super turn left Mark Bentley for dead after Sol Davis' pass, but the former Middlesbrough man then saw his 18-yard shot bounce back off the far post.Ian Henderson was denied by Royce from seven yards on the stroke of half-time and Craddock wasted Luton's best chances in the second period as Gillingham hung on.
