Reading 0 Nottingham Forest 1: Demanding Davies still not satisfied

Nottingham Forest's Lewis McGugan, who stroked a clever 61st-minute winner, looks one of the brightest prospects outside the Barclays Premier League. But demanding boss Billy Davies says he's too slow, not fit enough, too fat and tactically naive yet insisted: 'I told him after the game I want not to be his enemy but his friend. I want to look him in the eye and push him that bit further.' McGugan is eager to take on advice. Longing for more: Forest boss Billy Davies is demanding his players go the extra mile in future despite their impressive away win at promotion hopefuls ReadingThe 20-year-old midfielder admits: 'I've done alright but there's still a lot for me to prove. I was in the same England Under 18s as Theo Walcott, Lee Cattermole, Michael Mancienne and Fabrice Muamba. 'They have gone on to play at the top level and I want to do the same. But I've got to keep on doing what I've done here and hopefully I'll get a chance one day.' Reading's goal drought is a worry but boss Steve Coppell is not sympathetic to the cause of demoted striker Leroy Lita. Coppell said: 'Look at Leroy's performances and goals and the results when he's started games - and they don't make a strong case for him to start.'
