Dorman relishing Parkhead trip

The attacking midfielder has recently rediscovered the form that made him an instant hero when he signed from New England Revolution in January last year.St Mirren have only lost twice in 13 games and travel to Parkhead with genuine belief after the Scottish Premier League champions needed a soft penalty to beat them there on the opening day of the season."I've not played there yet so I'm really looking forward to the game," Dorman said."I've played at Ibrox a couple of times and it's been brilliant. Obviously the results haven't gone in our favour but you enjoy the day out."It's another nice pitch. Our new pitch is playing well and it gives us no excuses not to play well, and it will be the same on Saturday."Dorman has now scored 12 goals for Saints and it would probably have been several more had a back injury not disrupted his start to the season."I'm feeling good," the 26-year-old said. "The other boys around me are playing well and that helps."The forwards are creating chances and defensively we have been solid."I missed quite a lot of pre-season and it became about catching up with the rest of the lads and getting as fit as them."That took a while and, with that, I wasn't playing particularly well. My confidence wasn't up and I wasn't doing the things I'm good at."It was just a case of getting fully fit and start doing them again, which I managed to do."Dorman has yet to hold talks with St Mirren about the club's option to exercise a year's extension to his contract.Buddies boss Gus MacPherson revealed he is sure to take up the right amid speculation linking the player with a move to England.MacPherson said: "It's a formality that we will take up the option for a further year; other than that we can't really say any more."Everyone talks about interest and clubs looking at him, but we have not received a single inquiry."Dorman's goals have helped Saints close the gap on the top six to five points.MacPherson is not tempting fate by talking up the prospect of breaking into the top half, but he hopes his players are aiming as high as they can.He added: "We talked about it, funnily enough, in November, when we never picked up any points. We maybe learned our lesson there."But players are not daft; they see the league table and know how close they are."And with the run of games that are coming up after this one, there's an opportunity there." Celtic 1/5, Draw 5/1, St Mirren 14/1
