Evans hopes to needle Fergie into letting him face Spurs at Wembley

Jonny Evans has begged Sir Alex Ferguson to give him more pain-killing injections so he can turn out at Wembley on Sunday.Manchester Uniteddefender Evans is desperate to face Tottenham in the Carling Cup final after playing through the pain barrier in Tuesday's Champions League draw against Inter Milan. The 22-year-old shrugged off an ankle injury to help his side hold the Italian champions to a goalless draw in the San Siro. No pain no gain: Evans did well against Adriano in Milan and fancies taking on the Spurs strikers at WembleyAnd Evans said: 'Missing the final isn't nice to think about.'The manager has tried to tell me if I miss it, it's no big thing. But hopefully he will allow me to have a few more injections.'My chances are a bit the same as Tuesday night. I am just trying to scrape through each game.'Tuesday was more important because there weren't many other options so I was forced to play. I don't think that will be the case on Sunday.'United boss Ferguson will have Nemanja Vidic back from suspension to face Spurs but Evans is relishing the chance to play in his first major final. He added in the Daily Express: 'The ankle was fine in Milan, except the last five or 10 minutes of each half. Perhaps the painkilling stuff was wearing off. I had another shot at half-time to help me through.'I picked up the injury when I was at Sunderland. It keeps hurting and coming back so I'm going to have to get it sorted at some point in the future.' Wily Mourinho apologises to Inter fans for 'parking the bus' against UnitedCARLING CUP FINAL SPECIAL: They've met before a trip down sport's memory lane with Manchester United and SpursFergie on edge: United boss knows home pain can follow a goalless awaydayDependable Dawson dealt another crushing blow as Spurs boss Harry vows to make Ledley his Wembley King for the dayTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC NEWS FROM ACROSS THE NETMANCHESTER UNITED FC NEWS FROM ACROSS THE NET
