Fitz expected Butcher bounce

Butcher - along with another former Well manager Maurice Malpas - has transformed the fortunes of the Highland club, who are unbeaten in their four games at the helm so far.Fitzpatrick knows all about the qualities Butcher possesses as a manager after being given his break in the Motherwell first team by the former England and Rangers star.He was handed his senior debut a day after his 18th birthday and has since gone on to establish himself as a regular in the first team at Fir Park. That is why he knew Butcher would be able to bring out the best in a group of players lacking in confidence and rooted to the bottom of the Scottish Premier League. And, despite being written off by most people, he now fully expects Inverness to avoid the drop this season."Terry has brought in the passion and that's what teams down at the bottom need, so good luck to them," said Fitzpatrick."He has been a captain in his playing days and he is a natural leader and that's how the players will look at him."His man-management skills are important but his passion in the dressing room is probably the biggest factor."Inverness have earned draws with Celtic and Dundee United and defeated Kilmarnock and Hibernian since Butcher's arrival.Fitzpatrick added: "Terry and Maurice can't do much now with no transfers so they just have to work with the players they've got."They need to try to keep morale and confidence up and that's something Terry is very strong at and that's why things are going well just now."It will be a confidence thing, trying to get them on a run of results and that's what has happened so far."Fitzpatrick is relishing the prospect of facing his former management team when Motherwell travel to the Caledonian Stadium this weekend. And with a decent run of their own - their Homecoming Scottish Cup exit to St Mirren aside - he hopes the honeymoon will soon be over for Caley Thistle. He said: "There are a lot of boys in the dressing room who have played under both managers and that should add an extra edge to the game when we play them on Saturday."We are all looking forward to the game."We have done well ourselves so hopefully we can keep that going and kick on this season. Hopefully we can get a win on Saturday."They are having a honeymoon period at the moment but it's always a hard place to go to so we know it will be a hard game."It's always hard at Inverness; they've always been a tough team to play, so that won't be any different."With Terry and Maurice there now, there will be a bit more passion so it's going to be a hard place to go."
