Portsmouth put caretaker Hart in charge of their battle against relegation

Chance to impress: Hart Paul Hart is set to be given the Portsmouth job until the end of the season. Alexandre Gaydamak has been impressed with the response of the team since the former Nottingham Forest boss replaced Tony Adams earlier this month. The Portsmouth owner is ready to leave Hart in charge for the rest of the season to mastermind their escape from relegation. Mexico coach Sven Goran Eriksson remains the long-term target, but Gaydamak is prepared to give Hart and assistant Brian Kidd the chance to impress.
