Allardyce vows to stay with Blackburn even if they suffer relegation

Sam Allardyce insists he will not quit as Blackburn manager if the club are relegated. The former Bolton and Newcastle boss replaced Paul Ince just before Christmas with the club deep in relegation trouble and has masterminded a revival that has given Blackburn a realistic chance of avoiding the drop. But consecutive defeats against Aston Villa and Manchester United have left the club two points adrift of safety with a game in hand and Allardyce is adamant he will stay at Ewood Park regardless of which division they're in next season. In it for the long haul: Allardyce insists he won't jump ship'There is bound to be doubt about my future unless I get them out of trouble and keep them in the Premier League,' Allardyce told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. 'That is my remit and if I don't do that I expect my position would come under scrutiny. 'I would not expect anything else. A contract makes no difference whatsoever anyway. 'If you are not wholeheartedly behind the football club then the club is not going to stand in your way. 'You do what you think is right for you and the football club. I certainly don't see myself walking away, if the worst happens. 'We don't talk about that worst-case scenario, but hypothetically if it happened I don't see it from my side of things.'  Coventry v BLACKBURN: Big Sam has plenty of optionsManchester Utd 2 Blackburn 1: Injury to Evans puts Fergie on the defensiveHarry's game: Sportsmail's guide to how Tottenham will (or won't) get to the 40-point safety barrier Redknapp has targetedBLACKBURN ROVERS FC NEWS FROM ACROSS THE NET
