Collins out for a month

West Ham have confirmed James Collins will be sidelined for a month because of injury. Collins picked up a hamstring problem in Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Bolton and Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola feared the defender might face a lengthy spell out.Scans have shown Collins has suffered a tear to his hamstring which will rule him out of action for a month."West Ham United can confirm that James Collins is likely to be out for four weeks with a hamstring tear in his left leg," read a statement on the club's official website."An MRI scan confirmed the injury on Monday afternoon, which means he could miss the next three league games against Manchester City, Wigan Athletic and West Bromwich Albion."He could yet be fit for the international fixtures against Finland and Germany in Cardiff on 28 March and 1 April respectively."The news is a blow for Zola as Collins has formed an impressive defensive partnership with Matthew Upson and had been instrumental in the club's impressive run of form.
