Gomes - I'm still No.1

Heurelho Gomes insists he is still Tottenham's No.1 goalkeeper despite the winter transfer window arrival of Carlo Cudicini. The Brazilian shot-stopper was signed from PSV Eindhoven last summer by former manager Juande Ramos to replace Paul Robinson.Gomes believes he was signed to be the top keeper at White Hart Lane and feels nothing has changed despite Harry Redknapp's move for experienced Italian Cudicini. The 27-year-old penned a four-year contract upon arriving at Tottenham and he intends to see out his time at the club, although he will be unhappy if he slips down the pecking order.Disappointing"It was disappointing to be left out of the Arsenal match earlier this month because I had told Harry I was ready to come back into the team," he told The Sun."I feel the club supports me and the chairman has told me I am his No.1. "I don't feel threatened by Carlo because it is important for a club like Tottenham, with aspirations to challenge for honours, to have quality replacements for every position. "I have at least three years left in my contract and intend to see them through. You are not going to see me happy on the bench, that's for sure. "The absence of a keeper to stand in when I had a hip injury was one of our biggest problems this season. "Having said that, I was signed to be the club's No.1 keeper and expect things to remain this way."
