Nolan sent off for shocking challenge on Everton striker Anichebe as Newcastle turn nasty

Kevin Nolan was sent off for a dangerously high tackle on Everton striker Victor Anichebe this afternoon as Newcastle turned nasty in their clash at St James' Park.The former Bolton captain was shown a straight red for his two-footed challenge late in the 43rd minute of a brutal first half.Anichebe needed lengthy treatment and, after trying to carry on, eventually hobbled off the pitch to be replaced by Marouane Fellaini.
