Southgate waiting on Pritchard news

England Under-21s are waiting to find out whether Alex Pritchard's European Championship is over.Having impressed as a substitute in the defeat to Portugal, the 22-year-old was handed a starting berth in the Young Lions' must-win clash with Sweden.Pritchard repaid Gareth Southgate's faith with an exciting display in the 1-0 win, albeit he only managed 55 minutes before going off with an ankle injury. The England Under-21s boss admitted it "didn't look very good" for the Tottenham winger, who was seen hobbling around on crutches, with his right foot in a protective boot.Pritchard had the injury assessed on Monday afternoon and the Young Lions are now waiting to hear the prognosis.Losing the diminutive attacker would be a blow for an England side already robbed of top scorer Saido Berahino through a knee injury. The West Brom forward was replaced in the squad by Wolves' Benik Afobe, while John Stones missed the opening two games with suspected concussion. The Everton defender trained with his England team-mates on Monday and is set to start Wednesday's final group match against Italy.
