How excited are football fans about the new fixture list?

No sooner have we kicked one season out than another one turns up knocking on the front door and demanding to be let in. Yes, it’s fixture time – tomorrow’s the day you find out who you’ll be playing on opening day, when derby day is and where you’ll be driving on Boxing Day when the trains aren’t running. (Peter Byrne/PA) The anticipation up and down the country is almost unbearable. Almost. Fixtures out tomorrow #buzzing ⚽️⚽️⚽️#mufc — SNAR (@s017) June 16, 2015 Can't wait to see the fixtures announced tomorrow — Natalie_MUFC (@Natalie_R_x) June 16, 2015 Well excited to see the premier league fixtures for next season⚽️ — Charlie Ball (@CharlieBall01) June 16, 2015 I buzz off the Fixtures announcement ! Last season ended 2 minutes ago ffs — James (@JamesK_1312) June 16, 2015 And others just categorically were not excited. What time are the fixtures released tomorrow?? #FixturesReleaseDay — Luke (@Luke_Toresen4) June 16, 2015 For the promoted teams, the excitement was particularly acute. There is a different hype waiting for the Premier League fixtures than there is the Championship ones. #NCFC — Cory (@iwritethings23) June 16, 2015 1 day until the fixtures are out 😁⚽️ Would like avfc or someone alike for the first game, not too difficult but an exciting start #watfordfc — Tim (@timwfcmay) June 16, 2015 Among the jaded old Premier League regulars, plenty of fans were looking out for this particular away day… Fixtures tomorrow. Fixtures out tomorrow and it's another year without Derby, Forest or Coventry! #lcfc #WereAllOnOurOwn pic.twitter.com/EUqM6JlRan — Luke Lyons (@CityTank) June 16, 2015 There were the inevitable ‘leaked fixtures’ tweets… Leaked fixtures for the first day of the season #bpl #epl #nufc pic.twitter.com/esdxhVqBo0 — NUFC Gallowgate (@NUFCgallowgate) June 16, 2015 Given whoever did this hasn’t even managed to give Arsenal a capital A, we’re gonna go ahead and say it’s nonsense. It happens every year. It’s always nonsense. So, see you tomorrow for the real fixtures. Try not to get so excited that you can’t sleep. Don’t forget to leave out a pie and some hot Bovril for the Fixture Fairy. And remember – if you stay awake all night, the fixtures won’t arrive.
