Bairns snap up Spanish keeper

Pending international clearance, the former Sporting Braga and Deportivo La Coruna player, 29, could make his debut in Saturday's Scottish Premier League match at Motherwell.Mallo did enough in a trial game against Livingston last week to earn a deal.Bairns boss John Hughes told his club's official website: "I'm really glad to get the lad - he comes highly recommended."He has impressed me at training - and if the international clearance comes through on time, he will be part of the squad for Saturday's game with Motherwell."Hughes had been looking for an experienced player to provide competition for first-choice goalkeeper Robert Olejnik after the on-loan Scott Flinders returned to parent club Crystal Palace.
