Cherries: Molesley out for rest of season

LUCKLESS Cherries midfielder Mark Molesley has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a persistent foot injury. Molesley was hoping to play some part in Cherries' promotion run-in after making progress following surgery in January. But the 28-year-old, who has been sidelined for five months by the problem, broke down during some light running exercises. Cherries boss Eddie Howe today confirmed Molesley would again be forced to go under the knife for a second operation. Meanwhile, Cherries have marked Steve Fletcher's unstinting loyalty to the club by renaming the North Stand at Dean Court in his honour. The popular terrace, which houses home supporters, will be known as The Steve Fletcher Stand for the next five years. Fletcher, who first joined Cherries in 1992 before returning last season, is the club's appearance record-holder, having played 639 times. Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell told the club website: "We are privileged to be able to name the stand after Steve Fletcher. The renaming of the North Stand is a great way to honour Steve's service to the club and he is a much-loved player among the supporters and wider community." The stand will be officially unveiled as The Steve Fletcher Stand at the Bradford City game on Saturday.
