Lillis buoyed by Shrimps away win

Rene Howe opened the scoring for the Shrimps in the League Two clash at Saltergate, and Craig Stanley sealed the victory after Martin Gritton had equalised for the hosts."It was a magnificent performance from us," said Lillis. "Chesterfield are expected to be up there so we knew we had to come here and put in a solid performance."With the things that are going on behind the scenes with the [transfer] embargo - we lost another three players this week - there was a feeling of sticking together and that is what we did."We travelled with just 17 players. That is all we had, the rest were injured, but that is what brings the character out in the team."We had to change our system because they changed theirs. We thought we would go like-for-like and although they got a good goal we showed our character to come back and score again. It was a great goal from a great move. There has been a lot of work on crossing and finishing and we enjoyed the fruits of that."
