Manchester United v Chelsea: Mike Dean to referee top of the table clash at Old Trafford

Mike Dean has been given the job of controlling the Old Trafford showdown, 17 months after he was subjected to a blast from Ferguson. The Manchester United manager was unhappy Dean did not send off Hull defender Andy Turner for a foul on Michael Carrick during United's 4-3 win at Old Trafford in November 2008. Liverpools Rafael Benitez lets Alex Ferguson get under his skinFerguson later admitted a charge of improper conduct in relation to his behaviour towards Dean. But Chelsea will also be aware; the official sent off Chelsea's Juliano Belletti and Michael Ballack when he took charge of Chelsea's 4-2 Premier League defeat at home to Manchester City a month ago. Dean has also awarded 16 penalties this season, more than any other referee in the Premier League, and ordered Chelsea's Frank Lampard to take a spot kick three times during the 1-1 draw at West Ham.
