Payne signs contract with Gills

The 17-year-old has already made two substitute appearances for the first team and has impressed manager Mark Stimson with a series of strong performances for the reserves, mainly playing out of position at right-back.Payne signed apprentice forms with the club in August and has now agreed a professional deal to keep him at Priestfield until the summer of 2010.
