Premier League champions Chelsea look set to announce the signing of former Manchester United and Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.Jose Mourinho's Chelsea have been in talks with Falcao's representatives for a number of days after the Colombian international was informed by loan club Manchester United that they would not be looking to sign the striker on a permanent deal. The Blues are looking to bolster their attacking options this summer with club legend Didier Drogba leaving Stamford Bridge for a second time, whilst Costa and Remy had both been hit by injuries at various times throughout last season.Reports from Spanish site Punto Pelota claim that a deal for Falcao is all but done and go as far as saying an announcement could be made within the next few days. Chelsea could sign the player for a reduced fee of around £25million, whereas Manchester United would have had to stump up £43million to turn Falcao's loan deal into a permanent arrangement.Chelsea may have Falcao to thank for that near 50% discount, with the player pushing to stay in the Premier League. Liverpool were also thought to be interested in Falcao's services but the 29-year-old would prefer a move to London.
