Nadir Belhadj injury scuppers move from Portsmouth to CSKA Moscow

Portsmouth's hopes of cashing in on Nadir Belhadj have been dealt a double blow. CSKA Moscow are interested in the £4.5million-rated Algeria left-back, but a thigh injury will keep him out beyond the April 8 transfer deadline in Russia. Belhadj is also far from thrilled by the prospect of playing in Moscow and admits that staying in England or moving to Spain would be more attractive. On his way: Belhadj (left) is heading out of Portsmouth'If it wasn't for the injury I would have left already,' said the 27-year-old. 'Right now I prefer to stay here and rehabilitate before the World Cup. 'My agent is in charge of this. I'd like to play in Spain or England, but I don't want to talk too much about this.' Italian side Roma, cash-strapped themselves, have also expressed in an interest in the player, who has previously stated it would be a dream to go to Barcelona. Meanwhile, he has played down fears that the adductor injury he sustained in training last week will rule him out of representing Algeria in South Africa this summer. 'It turns out that I have a slight injury in my ligament,' he said. 'Right now I'm rehabilitating and according to the medical staff I'll be ready in three to four weeks. 'An injury is the worst enemy of any professional footballer, especially when it's sustained on the eve of the World Cup. 'All players have that fear of missing the World Cup due to an injury. Nevertheless, I'll be recovered in a few weeks and ready to take part in it.'   Harry Redknapp reveals agony of Hreidarsson after achilles injurySpurs 2 Portsmouth 0: Pompey limp to Wembley as old boys pile on painPortsmouth hit by new tax evasion claim Tottenham chase former Arsenal and Chelsea man Lassana DiarraPORTSMOUTH FC
