Doig closing in on Cobblers return

The 27-year-old has endured a frustrating season so far, starting just 10 League One games, and has been out since picking up a hamstring injury at Leeds in November.Ian Sampson's reserve side will play their first game of 2009 when they welcome Colchester to Sixfields on Tuesday and Doig is expected to start.
