Wesolowski dreaming of World Cup

But the on-loan Leicester midfielder is refusing to get his hopes up over a late call into Pim Verbeek's squad, admitting injury may have already cost him his big chance to impress.Wesolowski, who netted a fine winner in Accies' 1-0 SPL win over St Johnstone, was sidelined with a hamstring injury when Australia assistant boss Graham Arnold dropped by New Douglas Park to watch him and team-mate Trent McClenahan in action two months ago.And Wesolowski has no idea whether Verbeek will have assigned anybody to watch footage of his latest performance either."I hope so, but I haven't heard anything," he said."To be fair, I haven't heard too much from Australia."At the moment, the main thing I'm looking to do is stay fit, stay healthy and hopefully help Hamilton stay up and push up the league."The 22-year-old has certainly been doing that, his return from injury coinciding almost exactly with a six-match unbeaten run that has taken Billy's Reid's men 11 points clear of rock-bottom Falkirk with only seven games remaining."When these games came up, we knew they were going to be massive," said Wesolowski, who insisted Hamilton were not yet safe."We had four games against the teams in and around us."We've pretty much obtained our goals."We've gone out there and played some good football as well at times."At other times, we've showed great spirit and resilience."As well as the visit of Arnold, Wesolowski's spell on the sidelines caused him to miss out on Hamilton's three matches in 10 days against Rangers two months ago.He therefore cannot quite believe an upcoming suspension is set to rule him out against Rangers for a fourth time this season. But he backed his in-form team-mates to cope without him and spring a surprise at Ibrox on Saturday."I'm sure the boys will be going into the game with a lot of confidence," he said."We know it's going to be a tough game but if we can go out there and play our football and frustrate them, maybe we can get a result."Especially with the run we're on at the moment, if we can use to confidence from that and carry on then things should be okay."
