Jones a big draw in Chopra return

Michael Chopra has revealed the 'Dave Jones factor' played a big part in his decision to return to Cardiff and now he wants to fire the club into the Premier League for the first time. The striker agreed a loan move back to Ninian Park from Sunderland just minutes before the January transfer window closed, with a permanent deal set to be signed in the summer. And he could not be more determined to shine now he is back in the Welsh capital. He told the South Wales Echo: "I am so happy to be back and this time it will be for longer than a few months. I wanted to stay longer last time, but, when the loan ran out, I felt I might have a chance playing at Sunderland. That wasn't to be and I have done what I feel is best for my football career by rejoining Cardiff."My transfer will be signed and sealed in the summer. I am not going back to Sunderland - I am a Cardiff City player now. I am not keen to drop out of the Premier League but when you are not playing you may have to look at the next step. We all believe a top-two finish is within reach. Why aim for the play-offs when we are that close?"It's good to be back. Most of the lads are still here from before and the staff are the same. That was a major influence on my decision. If Dave Jones had not been here, I might not have been here now. He had a big part to play in why I came."Personally, I will be judged on scoring goals. I have five so far this season and Ross McCormack is on 16. I believe I can catch him. I have lots of confidence and I'm chasing."
