Clough buoyed by Bywater form

The 27-year-old's current deal is set to expire in the summer, and only last week he made it clear that he wanted to extend his stay at Pride Park. His future at the club has looked uncertain at times in the past year. A promotion winner with the Rams in 2007, he lost his place to Roy Carroll last season and spent three months on loan at Ipswich. He started the current campaign as second choice behind Carroll, but has started the last five matches under new manager Nigel Clough and has impressed the former Burton boss."We are hoping to be able to announce something in the next couple of days. I know there have been discussions, which have gone very well," Clough told the Derby Telegraph."We have been pleased with him and he has looked better as the games have gone on. He kept a clean sheet on Saturday (at Plymouth) and he looked very composed and assured."
