Wotte relief at squad retention

Midfielder Andrew Surman was reportedly among the players set to be sacrificed to ease the money worries at St Mary's, but the board would not sell on the cheap.Wotte, who was also able to bring in Hungarian defender Zoltan Liptak on deadline day, is now looking forward to a concerted effort to climb away from the relegation places during the run-in."We didn't lose one player in the transfer window and that was a big thing for us because everyone was expecting that to happen," said Wotte."I am happy that the board did not negotiate with the clubs who made low offers for Andrew Surman or other players and I think we have to give credit to the board at the moment."It would have been very easy for them to sell a player because of the finances, but we also brought in Jan-Paul Saeijs who is doing a good job and Zoltan Liptak who has made a good first impression - so let's be positive."
