Owls to make long-term commitment

Wednesday became the first club in the Championship to donate their shirt sponsorship to charity - at a reported cost of £500,000 - when announcing the deal earlier this week.Strafford said: "The club has committed to a two-year contract that will see the Children's Hospital logo on all playing kit."But this is just part of an ongoing working relationship with the hospital and the partnership is something that will continue long beyond the terms that are in writing."Having a strong bond between the club and the hospital with far-reaching benefits for both organisations is something that I'm passionate about and will be dedicated to for as long as I am chairman of Sheffield Wednesday."Strafford added: "The club has received substantial commercial offers from potential main sponsors that represented a very favourable deal for Sheffield Wednesday. This is purely about the Children's Hospital and Sheffield Wednesday coming together and forming a strong partnership that we can be proud of."
