Martinez pleased by Swans' display

Jason Scotland struck in the third and 73rd minutes to put the Swans in charge and Jordi Gomez completed the rout with a superb free-kick four minutes from time. The visitors had no answer to the slick passing and movement of a Swansea side now on a 15-game unbeaten run.Martinez said: "We knew we had a huge challenge on our hands today and Ipswich showed in spells just how good they are."I am delighted we kept playing our normal game but goals change matches and we imposed ourselves upon Ipswich after scoring so early."I'm sure it was a pleasure for our fans to watch a performance like that and everyone kept up their standards, not just Jason."His second goal was superb and he is a great finisher who also holds the ball up well but every player contributed to the victory."We are into the last third of the season and our target must now be the play-offs. Everyone should be proud of out achievements but we must keep on progressing so that we can realise our dreams."Those dreams were brought sharply into focus in the third minute when debutant Albert Serran beat two defenders in a run down the right flank before crossing into the danger area.Scotland was first to the ball and crashed his shot into the net from close range.Despite their all-round play it was not until late in the second half that the dominant Swans increased their lead.Nathan Dyer took a corner on the right, the visitors' defence failed to clear and Scotland left a couple of defenders standing before crashing home his 15th goal of the season. There was still time for Gomez to power in an 86th minute free-kick to give the Swans a comprehensive victory."I knew it was going to be that sort of game," said disappointed Ipswich manager Jim Magilton."But we needed to stand up and be counted, particularly in the second half, and that is something that we didn't do."I can see why Swansea are doing so well because all their players are comfortable in possession but I was really confident coming here after winning three away games in a row."Our game plan was to retain possession as much as possible but we never had the spark that Swansea's confidence gave them."Emotions are running high at the moment but the players have just had a poor day and defended badly."
