Bruce backs Zaki to reignite

Steve Bruce believes Amr Zaki can help fire Wigan to a top-half finish in the Premier League. The Egyptian striker has gone seven games without a goal, but has managed to reach double figures in the top-flight this term. His recent slump has coincided with a barren spell for the Latics, with Bruce's men finding the target just twice in their last six outings. However, Bruce is adamant that his side carry a considerable goal threat and is backing Zaki to rediscover his early-season form."Zaki is the one who can be the spark for us - he can set us on fire again with goals," Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post."If you look at a lot of clubs in the Premier League, the one thing they have in common is that they struggle for goals."They don't have someone who can score them 10 or 12 goals, it's incredible how many teams have that problem."We're fortunate to have Zaki who is already in double figures, and I hope that he can give himself some fresh impetus and score a few more for us."DelayMeanwhile, Bruce has revealed that Cho Won-hee's proposed move to the JJB Stadium has been delayed by work permit issues."The work permit is the issue. South Korea played six games in two weeks in the Asia Cup, and the boy missed those games through injury," he said."We've got medical certificates for those games, so we'll present our case on Monday and see what happens."He's a good player, it's been reported that he's on trial here, but we already knew about him and knew what he could do."Cho has no contract anywhere, it's typical of his culture that he wants to be a Premier League player - he's determined to play over here."I hope things work in our favour."
