Bruce retains faith in Kapo

Wigan boss Steve Bruce believes Olivier Kapo can still enjoy a big role at the club. Kapo has failed to hit the heights since his arrival from Birmingham last summer. The Frenchman recently voiced his frustration at his lack of action after dropping down the pecking order in Bruce's plans.Bruce is a big fan of the former Auxerre man and he believes the Frenchman can still be a success at Wigan."I think Olivier is as disappointed as everyone else about the way things have gone here," Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post. "But I still remember the five goals he scored in 11 games at Birmingham for me, his 10 France caps, and him single-handedly beating Wigan while playing for Birmingham last season. "It hasn't quite happened for him here but I haven't given up hope. "I know a section of the crowd have turned against him a little bit because of the way he plays and the style he has. Spark"We haven't seen anything of him yet, but Kapo might still give us the spark in this second section of the season. "Certainly he is right in the equation for Saturday. With Mido not available, he comes into my thinking. "His best games for us have come away, particularly at Newcastle in November when he and Henri Camara were absolutely terrific. "Most Wigan supporters haven't seen him play well. But you don't play where he has and get 10 caps for France if you don't have any ability."
