Wenger: Clashes like Mancini's with Moyes are inevitable in Premier League
Arsene Wenger says managers are bound to lose their temper in the Premier League cauldron after Roberto Mancini and David Moyes went toe-to-toe on Wednesday night. Manchester City boss Mancini squared up to Moyes during Everton's 2-0 victory at Eastlands. The pair were sent off by referee Peter Walton for their astonishing bust-up. They could find out later on Thursday whether they will face FA action for their clash. But Arsenal's Wenger - who was himself involved in a touchline row with Tottenham rival Martin Jol in 2006 - has leapt to their defence, insisting such incidents are part and parcel on the pressure matches in the top-flight. He said: 'I had some incidents but we are all under pressure. During agame at one specific moment it can happen that, for a fraction of a second, we lose it a little bit. Mancini apologised for his behaviour after the incident in his side'sdefeat which dealt a blow to their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. Mancini said: 'If I made a mistake then I'm sorry. I have spoken with him. I wanted to get the ball because we had another five minutes.'
