Sheff Utd v Hull City preview

Sheffield United and Hull City will be battling it out for a quarter-final place when they meet in the FA Cup fifth round at Bramall Lane on Saturday. The Blades are currently chasing promotion to the Premier League and sit fifth in the Championship.Meanwhile, their opponents have taken everyone by surprise in the top flight this season and recorded a credible draw away at Chelsea last weekend, a result which proved to be the last straw for Blues boss Luiz Felipe Scolari.Manager Kevin Blackwell will fancy his chances against a Tigers side that will go into the game as slight favourites.Blades team newsBlackwell will have to shuffle his team around for the cup clash with injuries and suspensions taking their toll.Strikers Arturo Lupoli and Jamie Ward and defender Leigh Bromby are all cup-tied while midfielder Gary Speed (back) is sidelined.Defender Ugo Ehiogu is definitely out after he was ruled out for the rest of the season with an Achilles injury.Captain Chris Morgan is a doubt but Blackwell will be hoping he will be passed fit after the defender tore hamstring fibres against Preston, causing him to miss the club's last two games. If Morgan fails to make it either Gary Naysmith or Greg Halford could be pulled in from the full-back positions to partner Matthew Kilgallon at centre-half.Striker Darius Henderson is halfway through a four game suspension meaning that Danny Webber and Billy Sharp are Blackwell's only available frontmen. The situation could mean that defender Sun Jihai, midfielder Lee Hendrie and winger David Cotterill could be promoted from the bench. Tigers team newsDefender Anthony Gardner could be handed a start after finally recovering from an ongoing thigh injury which has kept him out since mid-September.Midfielder Nick Barmby is also back in contention to start after a calf injury has kept him out since the Everton defeat at the beginning of January.Fellow midfielder Jimmy Bullard is set to be rested by boss Phil Brown. The former Fulham man has been out with a knee injury and has not managed to train all week so the Tigers have decided not to rush him back.
