Adams relishing clash with Hoops

County came from behind to snatch a sensational 2-1 victory against the Scottish Premier League SPL side side in a thrilling quarter-final replay. After a goalless first half, Anthony Stokes fired Hibs ahead in the 46th minute when he headed home a Colin Nish knock back from a Derek Riordan corner. But County finished strongly and the introduction of Garry Woods proved to be a master-stroke when he stabbed home the equaliser after an Andy Barrowman shot was blocked on the line. With seconds of normal time left County grabbed a dramatic winner when man of the match Scott Boyd rose at the back post to head home a Richard Brittain corner."It was a tremendous occasion. We created a lot of opportunities tonight," said Adams, who will now take his team to Hampden park to face the Hoops on April 10."The stats say we had 60% of possession and 15 attempts at goal we can't complain at that."We've been down three times in the tie overall and were able to come back."I'm just delighted for the players they have been tremendous all season - they deserve their day at Hampden now."We were decent in the first half and created opportunities but we lost a goal so early in the second half."We have been down so many times against Hibs but we showed how we can come back. We got the boys to pass the ball and get forward, we created a number of opportunities."He added: "We've got desire and belief. We don't care about anyone else and we gave it a go against a Premier League side."Garry Wood comes on and scores a goal. Paul Lawson gets injured and I have to make a change, and I put two strikers up front and we went for it and it worked - that's the beauty of football."This is the best occasion any of these players in the dressing room can have to get to a semi-final. I've been there as a player for Motherwell and enjoyed the occasion although we lost 4-3 against Rangers."I'm thoroughly looking forward to going there as a manager but I'm looking for the players as well."Hibs manager John Hughes was "gutted" with the result."It was absolutely gut wrenching. We were better than the way we played tonight, we should have played a lot better," he said."But give credit where it is due, they put us under pressure, they got their goals. I'm honest enough to say we'll never win a match if we keep losing the type of goals we're conceding. Two poor goals in my opinion, that's it in a nutshell."It was the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup, but I have to watch what I'm saying because it sounds as if you are patronising the supporters I want to say it like it is. If that is our best shot, knowing what is lying in front of us Celtic at Hampden we've got one or two problems."He added: "We should never have been up here tonight although Ross County were the better team. To be 2-1 up at home in the last five minutes and lose it was disappointing."We needed to roll our sleeves and get on with it. We need to show plenty character and see where we go from there."I've said this before the teams in the top half of the first division are good enough to play in the SPL, Ross County are a well organised side so I wish them all the best in the semi-final."Over the piece they probably deserved it. If I look at my Hibs team I have a lot of work in front of me."
