Cahill facing challenge to win place back

Bolton defender Gary Cahill believes he has a challenge to get back into the starting line-up after nearly two months out with a blood clot in his arm. The centre-back played his first competitive match since January 30 in Wanderers reserves' 3-1 defeat at home to Manchester City on Monday night. "It's good to be back playing in games again - I'm absolutely delighted to be back," said the 24-year-old. He added: "Fitness-wise, it went pretty well. Obviously I've come back a little bit rusty, but it was all about fitness and getting 90 minutes under my belt; knowing that I can get though 90 minutes fine. "I've come through everything well and I feel good. "I made a couple of blocks, I've tested my heading and my shoulder, and come through it, so I'm happy with that." Cahill added on bwfc.co.uk: "Now I have to keep on working hard in training. "The lads have done really well since I have been out, so there's a challenge for me as I look to get into the manager's thoughts regarding selection."
