Coleman unhappy with draw

Coventry boss Chris Coleman could not hide his disappointment after conceding an injury-time equaliser in their FA Cup fifth round clash at Blackburn. The Sky Blues were on course for a place in the last eight after second-half goals from Aron Gunnarsson and Michael Doyle put them ahead after Roque Santa Cruz had opened the scoring for Rovers in just the second minute. But the Championship side could not hang on as they conceded in injury time with Christopher Samba turning and slamming the ball home.Coleman admits his side were second-best in the opening 45-minutes but he felt his side should have held out to seal the upset."We go one-nil down in the first two minutes, we said before we went out - game plan was not to concede early doors, they are the home team, they are the Premier League team - but we concede and that plan went out of the window and they were pretty dominant and I was happy at 1-0 at half-time," said Coleman."We changed formation in the second half and got better and better, and I think there was only one side going to win it - and it feels like a defeat but I said before I would be happy with a replay as long as we got through, albeit we came so close to beating them."I told them at half-time I was going to change the shape so they knew what was coming and I said don't concede as at 1-0 we still had a chance as I knew if we managed to knick a goal the Ewood crowd would get nervous and I knew the Blackburn players would get nervous and we managed to put them on the back-foot."I think we were the only team in it then, alright 2-1 with five minutes to go and Sam - like I would have done - has put Samba up and they are playing four strikers and it is then in the lap of the Gods."I thought we were going to go onto win it - but we have another bite of the cherry, but it is not going to be easy back at the Ricoh - it will be a tight game again."I don't want an open game against Blackburn, they are in a league above us and have more quality throughout and that is the way it is, if we win 1-0 in the last minute, extra-time or penalties - I don't care as long as we get through.Allardyce annoyanceBlackburn boss Sam Allaryce was happy to claim the late goal which forced the replay but he was annoyed that a Gael Givet goal was disallowed with the game at 1-1."We made hard work of it, and in the end I have no problem with the result but I have a problem with us not seeing teams off and not giving things away," said Allardyce."We were in complete control in opening 45 minutes, but Coventry were always bound to take chances and we did not manage it very well - we lost our fluency and lost our passing."I would also say we scored a very good goal which for some unknown reason the referee has disallowed and I have looked at it more than once before I came out here today just to make sure I was certain and I am absolutely certain it was not a free-kick - if that was a shirt-pull he must have imagined it, if that was a free-kick there would be 120 free-kicks per-game."We have then pulled ourselves back from what looked like a defeat in the final minute."
