Bruce must be patient

Steve Bruce accepts that his January purchases will need time to settle at Wigan. During a busy New Year transfer window for the Latics chief he saw his squad undergo an uncharacteristic overhaul.Emile Heskey and Wilson Palacios were offloaded to Aston Villa and Tottenham respectively, while Colombian striker Hugo Rodallega, Egypt international Mido, Crystal Palace midfielder Ben Watson and Newcastle's disgruntled full-back Charles N'Zogbia were all brought in to the JJB Stadium. All four of the new boys were on show at some stage during Saturday's insipid 0-0 draw with Fulham and Bruce admits his side lacked cohesion as a result of the numerous changes in personnel."We will be better in a couple of weeks - I hope," said Bruce."What I will say is all the changes we have made - and we have made too many - they are only young and will get better.Training"With a bit of training and getting used to their new surroundings, they will be okay."Bruce was pleased, however, with the performances of Rodallega and N'Zogbia - who were making their first starts for the club."I thought it was a difficult one for Charles, because of all the changes we made - but you could see in flashes of what we have got," added the Latics boss."Rodallega has also shown flashes. Ideally I should maybe have left him on the bench for him to come on and give us a spark."He is clever, and when he gets up to speed I'm sure he'll be a very good player for us."
