Cattermole backing Mido

Mido has been tipped to make an impact at Wigan by his former Middlesbrough team-mate Lee Cattermole. The Egyptian striker moved to the JJB Stadium on loan last month and scored on his debut to rescue a 1-1 draw against Liverpool. He will stay with Wigan until the end of the season and Cattermole is pleased to be working with him again.Cattermole, who joined the Latics from Boro last summer, told the Wigan Evening Post: "I spoke with the gaffer on a few occasions about Mido before he brought him here."Steve Bruce asked me what he was like, and I could only say good things about him."Mido is a great lad who just wants to play football and score goals - you can see the work rate he puts in."Key players such as Emile Heskey and Wilson Palacios left Wigan during the transfer window but Cattermole is not too concerned about the future. The midfielder is confident Wigan can build on what they achieved in the first half of the season. He said: "There is always disruption when you lose players. We had a great team spirit here and now we have a few new faces, we've got to build that again and try to finish the season as strongly as possible."
