Zaki content with campaign

Amr Zaki has declared himself content with his debut season in the Premier League and vowed to return to the scoresheet soon. The Egyptian was a revelation at the start of the term as he topped the goalscoring charts and impressed with a series of eye-catching displays.Such were his performance levels a number of high-profile European heavyweights were linked with the 25-year-old, who is on-loan at the JJB Stadium until the end of the season.However, such speculation coincided with a drop in form and while Zaki remains the top flight's fourth highest scorer, with 10 goals, he has not scored from open play since October.Zaki is refusing to be downbeat though and told the Egyptian press, while away on international duty, that he is pleased with how the campaign has panned out."I haven't scored in the Premier League recently, but that doesn't necessarily mean I failed," he is quoted in the Wigan Evening Post. "My supporters in Egypt need to be more patient. How come I failed when I trail high-profile stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Robinho only by one goal in the goalscorers' table?"This is my first season in England and I reckon that I have done well. Some players might stay on the bench for six months or so until they make their Premier League debut."But I have taken part in 99 per cent of Wigan's games this term, and I have become their top scorer."
