Southgate calls for belief

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has called on his side to keep the belief that they can avoid relegation. Boro remain in the drop zone after going down 1-0 to Manchester City at Eastlands courtesy of Craig Bellamy's second-half strike. The defeat stretches Boro's winless run to 13 games and they face a massive battle to climb out of trouble at the wrong end of the table.Southgate was frustrated not to take anything from the trip to City after seeing Afonso Alves thwarted on four occasions by debutant Shay Given."I'm disappointed we've not won again - we've done so many things right and it's frustrating," Southgate told Sky Sports 1."We looked solid and created chances away from home and not finished them, it's as simple as that."Performances like that are the reason we are where we are (in the table)."We folded at Fulham and West Brom but today we've done pretty much everything right."We haven't finished our chances but we've created them and we've got to maintain the belief we can do that (survive)."
