Hughes seeking away improvement

Mark Hughes believes improving Manchester City's away form is key to progressing to the next level. The free-spending Eastlands outfit have successfully navigated themselves away from the drop zone, but surprisingly City have just one away win to their name this term. That victory came way back in August in a 3-0 win at Sunderland and Hughes now wants his troops to cure their travel sickness sooner rather than later."We need to improve our away form because it is holding us back," stated Hughes."We have the players to pick up points away from home and I can see no reason why that should not happen."There are goals in us, that's for sure. We always create chances. It is whether we can take those chances at the right time."Good businessCity made a number of high-profile acquisitions in January in the shape of Nigel de Jong, Shay Given, Craig Bellamy and Wayne Bridge.Although City missed out on AC Milan superstar Kaka, Hughes has declared himself pleased with the club's transfer window business."I was delighted with what I brought in during the transfer window," he continued."At the end of each window you ask yourself whether you have brought in players that will make you stronger. We can certainly say that."We didn't get all the targets we were in for but we got a great portion of them and they are all having a big impact. I am pretty confident we are moving in the right direction."
