A player in La Liga was sent off for throwing grass at Sergio Busquets

Barcelona beat Celta Vigo 1-0 tonight thanks to a goal from Jeremy Mathieu, but something stands out in what was an otherwise unremarkable game. Celta player Fabian Orellana got a bit annoyed with Sergio Busquets, as most opposition players tend to do at some point during a match, but instead of pushing or kicking him like we’re used to seeing, he picked up a bit of the turf and threw it at him. He was sent off. In keeping with character Busquets acted as though he’d just been hit in the face – rather than the shoulder – with a rock. Nonetheless though, Orellana perhaps shouldn’t have given the referee the opportunity to show him the red. Busquets often accused of going down as if attacked by a particularly nasty clump of grass. Tonight he really was. — Sid Lowe (@sidlowe) April 5, 2015 BREAKING: Sergio Busquets a doubt for Barcelona's next game, after being brushed on the shoulder by a tuft of grass. pic.twitter.com/SGbdrE6ume — 101 Great Goals (@101greatgoals) April 5, 2015 Did a Celta player just get sent off for throwing grass at Busquets? Lol. Spanish football, tut tut. Arda Turan's boot throw was the best. — Mick Loizou (@MickmarJr) April 5, 2015 And here is that boot throw, just in case you’d forgotten.
