Salomon Kalou believes Guus Hiddink is the ideal candidate to help bring success back to Chelsea. The Blues have appointed the experienced Dutchman as their new manager until the end of the season, having parted company with Luiz Felipe Scolari on Monday. The current manager of the Russian national team brings a glowing reputation with him to Stamford Bridge, with success following him wherever he has been.Kalou has been quick to acknowledge the credentials of his new coach and is of the opinion that Hiddink is capable of ushering in a glorious era. "He's a nice guy and I'm really excited about working with him," the Ivorian striker told Sky Sports News following the first meeting between coach and players on Thursday."He has had a lot of success wherever he has been and I believe he can bring that success to Chelsea. We need to win games and I think he is the right choice."Kalou has also backed the recent words of club captain John Terry, who has called on his team-mates to start getting things right on the field."He is right. The players need to do their job on the pitch and the manager is there to correct the players and give direction," he added."As a player we need to make the first step and help the new manager to be a success."The African ace admits to feeling disappointed for Scolari, but accepts that managerial casualties are part of football and insists everyone must now focus their attentions of the challenges ahead. "That is football. There are sometimes difficult situations," he said."I loved working with Scolari and wherever he goes I hope he is successful."
