Lamps refuses to concede title

Chelsea ace Frank Lampard has refused to concede defeat in the Premier League title race, despite the FA Cup taking precedence this weekend. The Blues' below-par results have seen the West Londoners slip seven points adrift of leaders Manchester United and cost Luiz Felipe Scolari his position.Chelsea last won the title in the 2005/06 season and Lampard has fond memories of the occasion and is desperate for a repeat this time around. The race for league glory takes a back seat this weekend as Chelsea travel to Watford in the FA Cup and the 30-year-old says the team are looking to win as many trophies as possible.Never give up"You never give up on the league, but now we are behind," Lampard stated."It was one of the best days of my career winning the FA Cup final against Manchester United in 2007."You never forget that. It's all about performances for us now. We need to keep on putting them in from now on, in whatever competition."This weekend's battle at Vicarage Road sees Lampard go head-to-head for the first time with his father Frank Lampard Snr, who is now a consultant to Hornets boss Brendan Rodgers.PrudentThe former West Ham assistant manager believes it will be prudent for the lowly Championship outfit to keep close tabs on his son if they are to cause a fifth round giant-killing."I watch Frank week-in, week-out. It will be strange," said Lampard Snr. "We'll have to stop him."We were joking before the draw that we might get each other. We have enough on our plate at Watford as it is - down the bottom of the league."And it will be even harder now with Chelsea in their first game under a new manager. But Watford have nothing to lose. We will give them a game."
