Edwin grows tired of record
Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has joked that he is growing tired of the constant talk surrounding his current record-breaking run. The 38-year-old has not conceded a league goal since the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates on November 8th.Over recent weeks United's No.1 has beaten the Premier League and Football League records for the most minutes without being beaten.The Dutchman's latest clean sheet against West Ham on Sunday was his 13th in a row, eclipsing the British record set by Aberdeen's Bobby Clark in 1970/71.The former Fulham stopper has not been beaten in the league for an astonishing 1,212 minutes but he knows that records mean nothing if they aren't backed up by silverware."It is getting annoying now so maybe I will do it (let a goal in) in one or two games," he laughed."It is great of course but the records will only be important at the end of the season."If we end up losing another four or five games before the end of the season we probably won't be the champions and the goal is to win it."It is a halfway point. You take it on board but you don't celebrate."TeamworkVan der Sar is far too modest to take all the credit for the run and insists that the whole team has played their part."When you talk about this achievement it is all about the team," he added."It is about organisation and trusting each other. If Rio (Ferdinand) steps to the right you know (Nemanja) Vidic will follow."It is about knowing Rafael will come inside, or when Michael Carrick is going to block a shot from distance."It is magnificent. Hopefully we can keep if going for a while."
