Compean questioned the Swede's tactics during talks which followed the 2-0 defeat to the United States in a World Cup qualifier. But Compean said: 'I completely support Mr Eriksson. We have a commitment to be in South Africa and we will be in South Africa.' The defeat came in the first match of the CONCACAF zone's final qualifying round, which involves six teams playing home and away in a round-robin format. Compean said: 'There are 30 points (to play for). It hurts a lot to lose, of course, for all the fans, players, our families, etc.' Eriksson, who has been linked with the vacant manager's post at Portsmouth, said: 'I want to continue. I have a contract and I want to fulfil it. I am a man with courage and I am not going to walk away. 'We are upset because we did not win the match, but I am confident that we will be at the World Cup.'  No Mexican wave from Eriksson as ex-England boss rules out taking charge at PortsmouthPortsmouth on alert after Sven's Mexico crash to defeat in the United StatesRemember me?
