England fall in FIFA rankings

England have dropped two places to 17th in the latest edition of the FIFA rankings.England had climbed to 13th from 20th last winter after a run of six straight wins, but they now find themselves below Romania, Costa Rica and the Czech Republic in the standings.Northern Ireland moved up eight places to 43rd. They sit four places below Scotland, who dropped by one position.Wales fell three places to 37th and the Republic of Ireland are now 66th in the table, having moved up by one position since the last rankings were published in February.World champions Germany are top of the rankings. Argentina and Colombia are second and third respectively.Spain, meanwhile, have dropped out of the top 10 for the first time since January 2007.Like England, they failed to make the knockout stages in last year's World Cup and were subjected to a humiliating 5-1 defeat to Holland in their first group stage match.
