Eddie delighted to see six Cherries subs

BOSS Eddie Howe is hoping he can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel regarding Cherries' continuing injury crises. Howe had the rare luxury of being able to name no fewer than six substitutes for Cherries' League Two showdown at Notts County on Monday. It was a far cry from their previous away game at Shrewsbury where Cherries' four-man bench had included twice-retired assistant boss Jason Tindall and 16-year-old schoolboy Jayden Stockley who had arrived late after being drafted in at the 11th hour. Fit-again midfielders Sammy Igoe and Joe Partington were both unused subs during the 2-2 draw at Meadow Lane, while Liam Feeney was back in the starting line-up after recovering from a hamstring injury. It was good to see six subs, said Howe, who still has Jason Pearce, Scott Guyett, Shaun Cooper and Mark Molesley on the injury list. It shows we've got players coming back and we've got competition for places. The lads know they have got to perform to keep the shirt and that's what the game is all about. Hopefully, it won't be a problem again. We've been down as low as two or three so, to have six, is an embarrassment of riches for us! We've been used to it all season so I don't think it should affect us. If we get another injury crisis then it would, but, at the moment, we're in good shape.
