He wasn’t wearing one of these.

But he did at least wear one of these.

Sherwood – whose half-time team talk inspired Villa to victory over Leicester in the FA Cup this weekend – said he wanted his side to play with more freedom.
“The players were playing with a bit of apprehension. Let’s have a go fighting, throw a few punches ourselves"#avfc
Love it !

He made a point of putting a metaphorical arm around misfiring striker Christian Benteke.
Enjoying Sherwood singling out Benteke for some 'love'. Making sure he knows he's no.1, going back to playing to his strengths. Good. #avfc

But he was under no illusion that there would be one priority only for the rest of the season – Premier League safety.
Sherwood: “Don't expect too many Under-18 players playing Saturday. We want to bring thru home-grown players but now we need 6 wins" #avfc

Sherwood: "The philosophy this season is going to be different to how it’s going to be in the long run." #avfc

Villa fans noticed an immediate difference after two and a half years with Paul Lambert in charge.
What a buzz to see a vibrant positive bloke in the Villa hot seat. #avfc
— Roger. W (@RogW38) February 16, 2015
He’s already shown more motivation in 15 minutes than Lambert did in 3 years #avfc

For the first time in 3 years, I have actually understood everything that a Villa manager has said in a press conference #avfc
— Brett Griffiths (@X7JBG) February 16, 2015
He smiled, he joked – he even seemed to get on with the press.

I think the journalists who cover Villa are relieved to finally have a manager with a media-friendly personality. #Understatement #avfc

And suddenly, as if by magic, there was a feeling of positivity surrounding a team who had been as low as they come until just a few days ago.
Actually looking forward to the villa games again now

I really admire Sherwood. He wears his heart on his sleeve and displays real passion. Think he'll do a great job at Villa.
